Annual Meeting and Trade Show.
GACS, Inc. has an Annual Meeting in Fall of each year, usually October. This multi-day conference is usually held at a resort location in the state. It gives members an opportunity to learn with the latest content filled education sessions, network with other schools, take advantage of finding the best products and services with a trade show and have a fun and inspiration filled time with the association. The annual board meeting is conducted during the meeting and the upcoming board is installed during the meeting.
Over the past several meetings, Georgia Association of College Stores have partnered with the Alabama College Stores Association to form the Southeastern Conference of College Stores Association. This year, all Universities in Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and of course Georgia are invited to join our membership and register for our annual conference.
In the past, the annual meeting has been held at Ridges Resort in Young Harris (2010), Lake Lanier Resort in Buford (2011), Sea Palms Resort in St. Simons (2012), Hilton Midtown in Savannah (2013), Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain (2014), Marriott Grand National in Opelika, AL (2015), Lake Lanier Islands Resort in Buford, GA (2016) & Renaissance Downtown in Montgomery, AL (2017). Leadership Conference
GACS, Inc. has had a free leadership conference each Spring. This is a one-day meeting that is held at different locations in the past. This gives members the opportunity to network with others and grow in the industry. Every conference usually incorporates a bookstore tour into the agenda to give attendees a first hand look at peer bookstores. This conference encourages members to be active who can't attend the annual meeting.
In the past, the conference has been held at Clayton State University in Morrow (2012), Gordon State University in Barnesville (2013), Southern Crescent Technical College in Griffin (2014), Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw (2015), Augusta University in Augusta (2016), Georgia Southern University in Statesboro (2017), Middle Georgia State University in Macon (2018), and Southern Crescent Technical College in Griffin (2019).
